hey!
yah ORD was fun :D and sad :( . i miss the sfours!! but i look forward to having the sthrees be our NCOs! they seem quite nice too.
oh btw, there's something that i want to clarify, it's about our platoon pinpointing thingy. lol. and this applies to EVERYONE, including me. i find it quite weird when u ppl (shall i say not pinpointing?) say lots of true but quite mean stuff abt a platoonmate on your blogs, and u pepper it with lots of "not pinpointing anyone". i suppose to you, that helps to reduce the shame the person (to whom the message is "pinpointed to") as she remains blissfully anonymous. but, in actual fact, it does nothing to help the other person improve, instead, she would probably live in the fear of being known as the one who was being pinpointed, and is this PLATOON SPIRIT?
when we want the platoon to improve, and we think that some ppl are being extremely frustrating and uncooperative, we should offer kind advice either on blogs, or face-to- face. if u want to criticise, please just do it face-to-face. and actually, what's the use of not naming someone whom u want to improve? firstly, the person may know it's her and feel ashamed, and that's not very edifying either. secondly, the person may think it's someone else and do nothing about it. it's the same for leaving a tag without putting your name. it's like u are afraid of being accused of flaming someone. if u want to criticise someone, just go speak face to face, or if u really hate that person to bits, at least don't flame her with many "not pinpointings" in between. firstly, it doesn't help, and secondly it's downright mean. cos the people whom u claim u arent "pinpointing" usually know u're referring to them. and trust me, it doesn't help to shame someone at all.
next, pls be more understanding and treat each other with respect. if you want the platoon to be bonded, involve everyone. if u don't want others to ignore u, don't ignore them either when they have something to say. and pls pls pls don't have a scapegoat in the platoon to blame everything on. accept ppl for who they are. and for those who know u are not putting in enough effort, try your best to improve. love all your platoonmates, don't take them for granted.
lots of love (LOL!! )
